In February 2025, I introduced my first book on this blog: An Indian Traveler: From Teenage Salesman to Nomadic Globetrotter. Today, I have something new to share about its journey.
The book’s Kindle listing has earned a #1 Best Seller badge in Travel & Holiday Guides on Amazon India. The screenshot accompanying this post records that milestone, alongside a 4.9 out of 5 rating from 70 Amazon ratings.

A solo travel memoir that begins in Mumbai
At sixteen, I sold SIM cards door to door in Mumbai. Before I turned twenty, my brother and I had started our own business. Years later, I began questioning the routine I had worked so hard to build.
That question eventually took me across six continents.
The book follows the uncertainty, friendships and occasional spectacular misjudgements along the way. There is a first Couchsurfing night behind a mysterious door in Central Asia, a canoe in Uganda that refused to go where I wanted, and Himalayan journeys that repeatedly tested my confidence.
If you know my travels through this blog, the memoir connects those experiences with the life that led me to them, including the years before I began travelling solo.
Back in Colombia, with the book
In 2020, I spent nearly six months in Medellin, Colombia during the pandemic quarantine. In 2026, I returned carrying the book.
Holding it in Medellin brought those months back to me. A period when I had no idea what would happen next had become a chapter that other people could read.
